Get ready for a real adventure and time travel! We will take you on a historical walk our local guide will fill you with interesting stories and show you some of the Renaissance quarter's hidden gems.
We will meet you in the city centre, show you a hidden garden with beautiful statues and take a short walk to cross the river and get to the old town of Lyon.
We will walk along the charming, cobbled stoned streets the largest, UNESCO listed Renaissance quarter of Europe. While you admire the details of medieval architecture, our local guide will tell you about the exciting and legendary past of this significant city that once was home to the Medicis, Nostradamus and many other famous personalities.
In a small local shop you will taste some specialities and maybe buy some to take home with you, then discover some lovely courtyards and hidden passageways. Your guide will explain you how to discover some on your own while you are in other parts of the city.
We will hop on the funicular to reach to the top of the city and learn a bit about the Roman ruins of Lugdunum, founded in 43 BC, then visit the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. The mosaics of the highest standing church of Lyon offer a fabulous sight.
From here you can admire the vast view of the city with its modern buildings in the far and its inviting riverbanks closer to you. A relaxing walk through a hillside park will take you back down to the pedestrian streets of the old town where our tour will conclude.
